EPL: Man Utd wanted me to leave in the summer, I’m hurt – Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has revealed that the club wanted him to leave during the summer transfer window. The Portuguese midfielder said the situation was painful for him, especially because of his loyalty and commitment to the team. According to Fernandes, hearing that the club was open to his exit was emotionally difficult.

Fernandes explained that he has always given his best for Manchester United, both on and off the pitch. He said he plays with passion and responsibility, which is why the idea of being pushed out left him hurt. Despite interest from other clubs, he made it clear that his heart was still with United.

The midfielder added that football decisions can sometimes be harsh and purely business-driven. However, he expected more trust after years of service and leadership at the club. Fernandes stressed that he never asked to leave and was surprised by the club’s stance during the transfer window.

Looking ahead, Fernandes said he remains focused on helping Manchester United succeed this season. He believes the best response is to perform well and lead by example. Fans, meanwhile, have shown support for their captain, praising his honesty and dedication to the club.
