Borno: Police avert explosion, recover unexploded ordnance

The Borno State Police Command has successfully prevented a possible explosion after recovering an unexploded ordnance in the state. The device was discovered during a routine security operation, raising concerns about public safety in the area.

According to the police, officers quickly secured the location after receiving information from residents. A bomb disposal unit was deployed to carefully remove the device, preventing what could have caused serious damage to lives and property.

Police authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine how the unexploded ordnance got to the area and whether it is linked to criminal or insurgent activities. They also reassured residents that security agencies are working round the clock to keep communities safe.

Residents have praised the swift response of the police, describing the action as timely and lifesaving. The police have urged members of the public to report any suspicious objects or movements to security agencies immediately.
