‘This isn’t politics, you never met bail conditions’ — EFCC slams Malami

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has rejected claims made by Attorney General Abubakar Malami, insisting that recent actions against him are not politically motivated. The agency stated that Malami had not met the bail conditions set by the court, which prompted EFCC’s intervention.

EFCC clarified that the commission’s move is purely legal, emphasizing that all procedures followed were in line with the law. The anti-graft agency further warned that attempts to politicize its work will not deter it from pursuing justice.

According to EFCC, Malami’s legal obligations must be respected, and the commission is only enforcing court directives. Officials said that no individual, regardless of position, is above the law in Nigeria.

The agency urged the public to understand that its mandate is to fight corruption and uphold judicial orders. EFCC reiterated its commitment to transparency and warned against spreading misinformation that could undermine public trust.
