Osun guber primary: PDP sets up appeal panel, names Turaki chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up an appeal panel to look into complaints arising from its governorship primary in Osun State. The party announced that former minister and party leader, Tanimu Turaki, will serve as the chairman of the committee. The panel is expected to review petitions from aspirants who may be dissatisfied with the conduct or outcome of the primary election.

According to the PDP leadership, the appeal panel was formed to ensure fairness, transparency and internal harmony. The party said it wants all members to feel that their concerns are heard, especially as preparations continue for the 2026 Osun governorship election. The panel will also help resolve disagreements before they escalate into bigger issues.

Party officials explained that the appeal committee will meet with aspirants, examine submitted documents and listen to all sides involved. They added that the committee’s report will guide the PDP on the next steps, including possible adjustments or disciplinary actions if any wrongdoing is detected.

The PDP said the move shows its commitment to running a credible primary and presenting a united front ahead of the election. With Turaki leading the review process, the party believes that all disputes will be handled professionally, allowing members to focus on winning the Osun governorship seat.
