Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has revealed that she felt bullied into publicly supporting President Bola Tinubu during the last election period. She explained that the pressure came from different groups who expected her to choose a political side. According to her, she never intended to make politics a public matter but was pushed into taking a stand she was not fully comfortable with.
Akintola noted that many Nigerians, especially celebrities, faced similar pressure during the election season. She said social media became a hostile place where people were attacked for their personal opinions. The actress clarified that her situation was not about fear, but about being constantly dragged into political conversations she did not want to be part of.
She added that politics is supposed to be a matter of personal choice, not something people should fight over. Akintola urged Nigerians to respect individual decisions and avoid attacking others based on who they support. She stressed that forcing people into political camps does not help the country grow or unite.
The actress also mentioned that she hopes Nigerians will learn to engage in political discussions with more maturity. She encouraged the public to focus on real issues affecting the nation instead of bullying others. According to her, everyone deserves the freedom to make their own political choices without fear or pressure.
