Gunmen kidnap APC chieftain in Ibadan

A senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly been kidnapped by gunmen in Ibadan, Oyo State. According to early reports, the incident happened late in the evening when the politician was returning home. Witnesses said the attackers blocked his vehicle and forcefully took him away before anyone could intervene.

The sudden abduction has caused fear in the community, especially among political figures who believe the motive may be connected to rising insecurity in the state. Residents have expressed worry over the boldness of the gunmen, who operated without resistance. Local sources say the kidnappers escaped quickly, leaving no trace.

Security agencies have already launched an investigation into the incident. Police officers and other operatives are said to be combing nearby areas in search of the kidnappers and their victim. Authorities have also urged the public to remain calm and provide any useful information that could help the rescue operation.

The APC in Oyo State has condemned the kidnapping and called on the government to intensify efforts to protect citizens. Party members are hoping for the safe return of the chieftain and are appealing to security agencies to ensure the criminals are brought to justice.
