Nigeria’s security problems too serious for online outrage — Coalition warns

A Nigerian coalition has raised concerns over the increasing security challenges in the country, stressing that online outrage alone cannot address the threats. The group warned that serious actions are needed to tackle terrorism, banditry, and other forms of insecurity.

According to the coalition, the frequent social media campaigns and trending hashtags do not replace effective measures by the government. They urged authorities to strengthen security agencies, improve intelligence, and implement proactive strategies to protect citizens.

The coalition also called on Nigerians to engage constructively, support security reforms, and collaborate with law enforcement rather than relying solely on online protests. They emphasized that collective effort and practical solutions are essential to curb rising violence.

Highlighting past failures, the group insisted that tackling insecurity requires more than social media attention. Concrete steps, policies, and community involvement are critical to safeguarding lives and property across the nation.
