Insecurity: Armed Forces alone cannot solve Nigeria’s challenges — Musa

Former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Musa, has stated that Nigeria’s security challenges cannot be solved by the Armed Forces alone. He emphasized the need for collaboration between the military, government, and local communities to effectively tackle insecurity across the country.

Gen. Musa highlighted that relying solely on troops limits the impact of security efforts. He called for stronger community policing, intelligence gathering, and public awareness campaigns to complement military operations in combating terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities.

He also urged the federal and state governments to invest in modern security infrastructure and technology. Musa stressed that tackling insecurity requires a holistic approach, including social and economic programs to address the root causes of crime.

The former CDS concluded that a united approach, involving citizens, security agencies, and policymakers, is crucial to restoring peace and safety across Nigeria.
