No negotiation with criminals, we can handle them – Kogi Govt

The Kogi State Government has insisted that it will not enter into any form of negotiation with criminals causing insecurity in the state. According to officials, the government has the capacity, resources, and security structures needed to confront criminal activities directly. They described talks with criminals as a weak approach that the state will never adopt.

In a statement, the government explained that security agencies are fully prepared to track, arrest, and prosecute anyone involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, or banditry. They reassured residents that the state is strengthening intelligence gathering and improving cooperation between various security units to ensure rapid response to threats.

Officials also urged the public to stay calm and trust the state’s security architecture, noting that panic only empowers criminals. They encouraged communities to share credible information with law enforcement officers to help in ongoing operations across rural and urban areas.

The government emphasized that Kogi State remains committed to protecting lives and property and will continue to take firm actions against anyone threatening peace. They reminded criminals that the state is ready to defeat them and restore full safety in every part of the state.
