Mass defection into APC hits Oju council of Benue State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a major boost in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State as a large number of people defected to the party. The event, which attracted community leaders, youths, and political stakeholders, signaled a major shift in the local political landscape. Party officials described the development as a sign that the APC is becoming more accepted at the grassroots.

During the defection ceremony, APC leaders welcomed the new members and promised that the party would offer a more people-focused style of leadership. They noted that many residents were joining the party because they wanted better opportunities, improved governance, and a platform that listens to their concerns.

Some of the defectors explained that they left their former parties due to unfulfilled promises and lack of direction. According to them, the APC currently appears more organized and ready to deliver meaningful development to the people of Oju council. They expressed hope that their decision would bring positive changes to their communities.

Local APC coordinators said the mass defection is only the beginning, as more groups have indicated interest in joining soon. They urged the new members to be active and committed, assuring them that the party is open to fresh ideas that will strengthen its structure ahead of future elections.
