Actress Regina Daniels Nwoko recently addressed Nigerians who criticized her for speaking against violence during the ongoing End Bad Governance protest. In a social media video, Regina urged protestors to avoid violence, which led to backlash from some who suggested her stance was influenced by her marriage to an older Senator.
In her response, shared on Instagram, Regina highlighted the situation in Northern Nigeria, where some have been flying the Russian flag and seeking intervention from Russia. She asked if this was what Nigerians truly wanted and warned that violence in the North could affect everyone.
Regina clarified that while she is privileged, she understands the struggles of ordinary Nigerians, including the need to pay her staff more due to increased insecurity and living costs. She emphasized that Nigeria’s issues can’t be solved overnight or by one person alone.
Regina stated, “I am not speaking for the government, nor am I seeking your love. I’m simply stating the truth. The earlier we realize this protest is taking a dangerous turn, the better for us all.”
