The Margi people of Adamawa State have officially unveiled a new national attire designed to reflect their heritage and identity. Community leaders said the outfit represents unity and a renewed sense of pride among Margi sons and daughters, both at home and abroad. The launch ceremony attracted traditional rulers, youth groups, and cultural enthusiasts who celebrated the milestone.
According to the organisers, the attire is meant to promote the Margi culture and preserve it for future generations. They explained that the clothing style showcases unique colours, patterns, and symbols that tell the story of the Margi people. The community believes the new design will help boost cultural awareness and encourage younger people to appreciate their roots.
During the event, speakers said the attire will also be used at festivals, weddings, and official gatherings to strengthen cultural identity. They added that such initiatives help to promote peace, unity, and understanding among different ethnic groups in Adamawa. The leaders also called on government bodies to support cultural preservation projects across the state.
Many attendees expressed excitement, saying the attire will give the Margi people a stronger presence in Nigeria’s cultural space. They described the unveiling as a step forward in celebrating diversity and showcasing the rich traditions of the North-East. The community plans to continue organising cultural events to keep their traditions alive.
