Kebbi school abduction: ‘Our girls must be rescued now’ — Women lawyers tell Nigerian Govt, AU, UN

Women lawyers in Nigeria have called on the Federal Government, the African Union (AU), and the United Nations (UN) to take urgent action to rescue the schoolgirls kidnapped in Kebbi State. They described the abduction as heartbreaking and unacceptable, stressing that young girls should never be targets of violence. The lawyers said it is the responsibility of authorities to protect children in schools.

The group explained that the repeated attacks on schools show a serious failure in security systems. They urged the government to move beyond statements and act quickly to bring the abducted girls back home safely. They added that the international community must also show support because children’s safety is a global concern.

According to the lawyers, families of the abducted girls are suffering and waiting for answers. They emphasized that these girls represent Nigeria’s future and must not be abandoned. They also called for better protection for schools across the country to prevent more kidnappings.

They concluded by demanding coordinated action from the Nigerian Government, AU, and UN. They insisted that rescue operations must be treated as top priority and that justice must be served on the attackers. The group promised to continue speaking out until the girls are found and returned home.
