Nnamdi Kanu barred from using phones, digital devices in prison

Justice James Omotosho has stopped IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu from using phones, computers, or any digital device while serving his life sentence.

The judge said Kanu earlier used phones to send broadcasts that led to violence in the South-East.

He explained that if Kanu must use any device, it will be monitored by the Office of the National Security Adviser.

Justice Omotosho also ordered that Kanu should be kept in protective custody because of the scale of killings linked to his actions.

The court directed that he be held in any safe correctional centre in the country.

It also ordered the forfeiture of the transmitter connected to crimes linked to Camserva.

Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, said they will take the next legal steps after the life imprisonment judgment.
