Kebbi school attack: NANS demands immediate rescue of kidnapped girls

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on the Federal Government and security agencies to take urgent action to rescue the schoolgirls kidnapped during the recent attack in Kebbi State. The student body condemned the incident, describing it as another heartbreaking reminder of the growing insecurity affecting schools in the northern region. NANS leaders said the nation must not allow the trauma of these young girls to continue without a swift and coordinated response.

In its statement, NANS expressed deep concern over the safety of students across Nigeria, warning that continuous attacks on schools are crippling the education system. The association stressed that no child should live in fear while pursuing an education. According to NANS, the government must show stronger resolve, deploy more intelligence resources, and ensure that kidnappers are tracked without delay.

The students’ union also urged community leaders, security forces, and state authorities to work together to prevent further attacks. They emphasized the need for improved surveillance around schools, especially in areas vulnerable to bandit operations. NANS added that the repeated targeting of students is a national tragedy that requires a decisive and lasting solution.

NANS further appealed to Nigerians to keep the kidnapped girls and their families in their prayers while pushing for immediate rescue efforts. They insisted that the government must account for the safety of every child and ensure such incidents do not happen again. The group reminded authorities that the lives and futures of innocent girls remain at stake.
