Ogun Assembly passes resolutions seeking resuscitation of farm, invites agric, forestry commissioners

The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed resolutions aimed at reviving a major farm in the state, emphasizing the need to boost agricultural productivity and economic growth. Lawmakers highlighted the importance of agriculture in ensuring food security and creating jobs for citizens.

In line with the resolutions, the Assembly invited the Commissioners for Agriculture and Forestry to provide detailed reports on current initiatives and propose strategies for the resuscitation of the farm. The lawmakers stressed that immediate action is necessary to restore productivity and sustainability.

The decision follows concerns raised by constituents about declining yields, inadequate farm management, and underutilized land resources. Members of the Assembly said reviving the farm would support local farmers and enhance Ogun State’s agricultural sector.

Stakeholders in agriculture welcomed the move, describing it as a positive step towards modernizing farming practices and addressing challenges in the sector. They urged collaboration between the government, private sector, and farming communities to ensure success.

The Assembly promised to monitor the progress closely and provide legislative support to ensure that the resolutions translate into tangible results for the state’s economy and food supply.
