Taraba: Gov Kefas vows to implement Karim-Lamido peace commission report

Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has pledged to fully implement the recommendations of the Karim-Lamido Peace Commission as part of efforts to end recurring conflicts in the region. The governor made the promise while receiving the commission’s report, noting that lasting peace in Karim-Lamido is essential for development and community stability.

Governor Kefas said his administration will not allow the report to gather dust, stressing that the findings and recommendations will be acted upon immediately. He added that the government is committed to addressing the root causes of communal clashes, boosting security, and promoting peaceful coexistence among the diverse ethnic groups in the area.

He also appreciated the commission for its extensive work, declaring that the measures outlined in the report will help prevent future violence and foster unity. The governor called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents to support the implementation process to ensure a peaceful and progressive Taraba State.
