A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees has raised concerns over the deepening crisis within the party, saying the PDP is currently caught between actions that violate its constitution and attempts to restore proper internal order. According to the BoT member, recent decisions and power struggles have created confusion, with some leaders allegedly taking steps outside the party’s rules while others push to follow due process strictly.
He warned that this clash between illegality and constitutional authority is tearing the party apart and weakening its national image. The BoT member emphasised that only a return to the constitution, internal discipline, and transparent leadership will save the PDP from further decline. He urged stakeholders to act responsibly and avoid actions that fuel division or undermine the party’s credibility.
The party elder also noted that the PDP must make bold decisions if it hopes to regain public trust ahead of upcoming elections. He appealed to members at all levels to put aside personal interests and work towards rebuilding a united and lawful political structure.
