Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has expressed dissatisfaction with Governor Lawal’s administration, rating its performance low as the 2027 elections draw closer. While addressing party supporters, Matawalle highlighted areas where he believes governance fell short and used the opportunity to rally support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He urged Nigerians to consider past achievements and failures when making political choices, asserting that APC remains the party capable of delivering progress and stability at both state and national levels. Matawalle’s comments appear aimed at consolidating APC’s base ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
Party members and stakeholders have welcomed his statements, saying that leaders like Matawalle are crucial for energising grassroots supporters. The governor also emphasised unity within the party, warning that internal divisions could weaken APC’s chances in 2027.
Matawalle concluded by calling on citizens to actively participate in the political process, stressing that the success of APC depends on both leadership and collective action from party faithful. His remarks signal the start of intensified campaign activities as the 2027 election season approaches.
