TCN announces fresh three-day outage in Lagos

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has informed Lagos residents of a new three-day power interruption scheduled to affect several parts of the state. According to the company, the planned outage is necessary to enable ongoing maintenance work on critical transmission infrastructure. TCN explained that the repairs are aimed at improving long-term electricity stability, even though the short-term impact may cause inconvenience.

The company noted that the affected areas will experience limited or no supply during the maintenance period. It assured the public that the work is essential to prevent unexpected breakdowns that could lead to even longer outages in the future. TCN emphasized that the upgrade is part of a nationwide effort to strengthen the power grid and enhance overall performance.

Residents and business owners have expressed concern over the timing, especially given the economic challenges and recent power disruptions in the state. Many fear the outage could disrupt daily operations, increase running costs for small businesses, and place additional stress on households. However, TCN appealed for patience, urging Lagosians to see the planned maintenance as an investment in better power delivery.

The company also advised residents to take precautionary measures, such as preparing alternative power sources and planning for possible service fluctuations. It reassured Lagos consumers that its team will work round the clock to finish the repairs within the stipulated days and restore normal electricity supply as quickly as possible.
