Troops of the Nigerian Army, working in collaboration with other security agencies, have arrested an armed suspect during a joint operation in Taraba State.
The operation, which took place in the Takum Local Government Area, was aimed at tackling criminal activities, including banditry and illegal possession of firearms in the region. According to military sources, the suspect was found in possession of dangerous weapons and was immediately taken into custody for further interrogation.
Security operatives confirmed that the joint team acted on credible intelligence, leading to the successful arrest without any exchange of gunfire. The operation also resulted in the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and other items linked to criminal activities.
Authorities assured residents that more coordinated patrols will continue in Taraba and neighboring states to ensure peace and security in the North-East region.
