Employment Scam: ICPC secures conviction of two National Assembly staff

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has successfully secured the conviction of two staff members of the National Assembly for their role in an employment scam. The officials were found guilty of collecting money from unsuspecting job seekers with the promise of securing them government employment.

According to the ICPC, the guilty officials took advantage of desperate Nigerians seeking positions in government agencies. After a detailed investigation and court trial, both individuals were convicted and sentenced according to the law. The commission said the judgment sends a strong warning to public servants who try to exploit citizens through fraudulent recruitment practices.

The ICPC urged Nigerians to stay vigilant and avoid falling victim to fake job offers. It also encouraged the public to report cases of corruption and employment fraud to help support the fight against corrupt practices in government institutions.

This conviction is seen as another step in Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to sanitize the public sector and strengthen trust in government recruitment processes.
