Rejected Rivers politician can’t lead revolt against Tinubu’s reelection’ – APC hits Amaechi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, suggesting he could lead any movement against President Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid. The party described the remarks as baseless and politically motivated.

APC spokesperson stated that Amaechi, who has reportedly faced setbacks within his political ambitions in Rivers State, lacks the authority and influence to rally party members against the current administration. The party emphasized that Tinubu’s reelection campaign remains strong and unified, dismissing any internal threats.

The spokesperson added that loyalty and alignment with party goals are critical for leadership within APC. Attempts to create divisions, particularly by individuals previously rejected for political roles, would not succeed. The statement reaffirmed the party’s commitment to maintaining cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Political analysts note that the development highlights ongoing tensions within APC ranks but stress that the party’s leadership structure is designed to neutralize challenges from disgruntled politicians. APC urged members to focus on grassroots mobilization and policy achievements rather than internal disputes.
