Roberto Mancini, the former Manchester City and Italy manager, has secured a fresh coaching role with Qatari club Al Sadd. Football reporter Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Mancini has accepted the position and will arrive in Doha on Wednesday to finalize his deal.
This move marks Mancini’s return to the Middle East. He previously coached the Saudi Arabia national team from August 2023 to October 2024. His new contract with Al Sadd is expected to run until May 2026, showing the club’s long-term confidence in his experience and leadership.
Mancini will take charge of his first match on November 24 against Al-Wahda in the AFC Champions League. Al Sadd currently sits sixth in the Qatar Stars League and has been led temporarily by Sergio Alegre since the exit of manager Felix Sanchez on October 15.
With Mancini’s arrival, fans are hopeful the club will regain momentum and push for success both domestically and in Asian competitions.
