Gunmen abduct FRSC officer, another resident in Benue

A Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and another resident have been kidnapped by gunmen in Benue State. The incident reportedly happened in the early hours of Monday when armed men stormed a community and took the victims away.

Residents confirmed that the attackers arrived suddenly, causing panic as they shot into the air before whisking the victims to an unknown location. Local people said the FRSC officer was targeted while the other victim was taken during the same attack. Families and neighbors are said to be deeply worried about their safety.

Security agencies in the state have been notified, and efforts are underway to find and rescue the abducted persons. Authorities are also investigating the incident and working to identify the kidnappers. Community leaders have called for more security presence in rural areas, saying kidnappings in the state are becoming too frequent.

The public has been urged to remain calm and cooperate with security operatives by sharing useful information. Many citizens expressed concern about the rising cases of abductions in Benue and appealed to the government to take stronger action to protect lives and property.
