Promotion comes with greater responsibility – Jigawa CP tells officers

The Commissioner of Police (CP) in Jigawa State has urged newly promoted officers to understand that their elevation comes with increased duties and accountability. Speaking during a ceremony held at the state police headquarters, the CP emphasized the importance of professionalism and integrity in carrying out law enforcement responsibilities.

He reminded the officers that promotions are not just about rank or privileges, but a reflection of trust placed on them by the force and the public. “With higher rank comes higher responsibility. You must serve with diligence, fairness, and dedication to the rule of law,” he stated.

The CP also highlighted the need for officers to act as role models within their communities, stressing that ethical conduct and adherence to service regulations are crucial for maintaining public confidence in the police.

He encouraged the officers to continue improving their skills, remain committed to upholding justice, and support their colleagues in promoting a safe and secure environment across Jigawa State. The CP concluded by wishing all officers success in their new roles and urging them to embrace the challenges that come with promotion.

The ceremony was attended by senior police officials, newly promoted officers, and members of the state police management team, all of whom reaffirmed their commitment to professional service and community engagement.
