Ebonyi community backs land acquisition for expansion of federal varsity

A community in Ebonyi State has expressed strong support for the federal government’s plan to acquire more land to expand the Federal University located in the area. Community leaders and residents say the expansion will bring more development, create jobs, and lead to better opportunities for young people. They believe the growth of the institution will improve the local economy and attract investors to the state.

According to the community representatives, the people are ready to cooperate fully with the authorities to ensure the process goes smoothly. They also promised to work closely with the university management and government officials to avoid disputes and encourage peace. Leaders noted that having a larger university will improve education and boost the state’s reputation nationally.

The community appealed to the federal government to make sure the project begins soon so residents can start benefiting from it. They also asked for transparency and fairness in the land acquisition process to avoid misunderstandings. Some youth groups in the area pledged their support, saying the school’s expansion will create opportunities for employment and business growth.

Local elders also urged the government to provide necessary infrastructure such as roads, water, and electricity around the university area. They explained that these facilities will not only support the school but will also improve the quality of life for nearby residents. The community believes the expansion will attract students, lecturers, and researchers from across the country.

With full community backing, residents say they are optimistic that the project will move forward without conflict. They hope the development will make Ebonyi a stronger centre for education and development in Nigeria.
