The Osun State House of Assembly has passed two important bills aimed at improving justice delivery and strengthening traffic management in the state. The bills are the Osun Multi-Door Court House Bill and the Osun State Traffic Management Authority Bill.
The Multi-Door Court Bill will create more options for resolving disputes outside regular courts, such as through mediation and arbitration. Lawmakers said this will help reduce court congestion and make justice faster and more accessible to residents.
The Traffic Regulation Bill will set up a state traffic authority to control road use, enforce traffic rules, and ensure safer road activities. According to the Assembly, the initiative will help reduce accidents, improve order on major roads, and boost transportation efficiency across Osun.
Speaker of the Assembly, RT. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, commended members for their commitment, stating that both bills are part of efforts to improve governance and citizens’ welfare. The bills will now be sent to Governor Ademola Adeleke for assent.
With these laws, Osun State is expected to record progress in conflict resolution and road safety management.
