Former Manchester United winger, Nani, has shared bold optimism about his old club’s chances in the Premier League title race this season. Despite their shaky start under manager Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese star believes the Red Devils have what it takes to push for top spot.
Manchester United struggled earlier in the campaign and were bottom of the table at one point, but recent impressive victories over Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton have lifted them to sixth place. With momentum building, Amorim has secured his first run of three straight league wins since arriving in November. United now sit just one point behind the top four and a point above Liverpool, showing signs of a serious comeback.
Nani acknowledged that Arsenal remain the main favourites for the title, as Mikel Arteta’s team continue their strong form. However, he insisted United should not be counted out yet. The 38-year-old highlighted the squad’s growing confidence and the club’s push to rebuild into a top-level contender again.
Speaking to Covers.com, Nani said United are getting stronger and can compete with the Premier League’s elite sides like Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City. He noted that if they keep winning key fixtures, the title race could take a dramatic turn. He also pointed out that not being in European competition this season could help them stay fresh and focused on domestic success.
The United legend concluded by saying he is pleased with the team’s recent progress and believes even if the title doesn’t come this season, the club is on the right track for success in the near future.
