Wikki Tourists head coach, Abdullahi Maikaba, has expressed joy after his team finally returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Shooting Stars in their NPFL Matchday 10 clash held in Bauchi. The much-needed win brought an end to the club’s frustrating six-game winless run in the league.
The Bauchi Elephants were in control throughout the encounter, with Abdullahi Usman and Jonathan Mairiga finding the back of the net to seal all three points. The win lifted the team’s morale after a difficult spell marked by draws and defeats.
Speaking after the match, Maikaba praised his players for their determination and resilience. “This victory means a lot to us. It’s a good return to winning ways,” the tactician said. “The boys showed real character, and we are determined to build on this.”
The coach also extended gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support during the tough period. “We thank our supporters and pray Allah continues to bless us with more victories,” he added.
Wikki Tourists will aim to continue their newfound momentum when they face Barau FC next on Matchday 11 in Kano, hoping to secure back-to-back wins and climb higher on the NPFL table.
