Atletico Madrid have filed an official complaint to UEFA after being left without hot water at the Emirates Stadium following their training session ahead of their Champions League clash against Arsenal. The Spanish club described the situation as unacceptable for a stadium of such high standards.
According to reports from Marca, Diego Simeone’s men trained in rainy conditions in London but were unable to shower afterward due to the lack of hot water in the visitors’ dressing room. The issue was reported to Arsenal’s staff shortly after Atletico arrived around 5:30 p.m., but it was not fixed before training ended.
The LaLiga club expressed surprise that a world-class facility like the Emirates Stadium could experience such a basic problem during preparations for a major UEFA competition. Players and coaching staff had to return to their hotel to shower and prepare for Tuesday’s match.
Atletico Madrid have since submitted a formal protest to UEFA, asking the European football body to investigate the incident. The club insists that the lack of proper facilities undermines fair competition and professionalism expected at this level of football.
The situation has sparked online discussions among fans, with many calling for UEFA to ensure equal treatment and proper maintenance standards for all clubs participating in the Champions League.
