EPL: Leboeuf warns Slot, names four Liverpool players who may lose faith in him

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has issued a warning to Liverpool manager Arne Slot, saying he risks losing the trust of some players if his team selections do not improve. The warning came after Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.

Leboeuf, speaking on ESPN FC, mentioned four players who might begin to lose faith in Slot’s leadership — Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Curtis Jones, and Federico Chiesa. According to him, these players have shown great effort and form but often get overlooked for others chosen based on their transfer value.

“He’s going to lose the bench if he carries on like this,” Leboeuf said. “The players who came on against Manchester United — Frimpong, Jones, Ekitike, and Chiesa — are working hard and deserve more chances. When players see selections based on price tags, it affects their morale.”

Leboeuf further warned that continued favoritism could hurt team unity and performance. He noted that Ekitike, in particular, is in excellent form and could feel undervalued if he continues to be sidelined.

Liverpool’s loss to Manchester United leaves them sitting third in the Premier League standings, behind Arsenal and Manchester City. Fans will be hoping Slot’s next line-up restores confidence and balance in the squad.
