Zamfara PDP chairman’s aide dumps party for APC

In Zamfara State, the media aide to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman, Muhammad Isah, has officially dumped the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Isah, who worked with the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Jamil Jibo Magayaki, announced his defection on Monday, citing internal issues and recent developments within the PDP as his reason for leaving the party.

His defection follows that of Hon. Muhammad Lawal Kurya, the PDP candidate in the Kaura Namoda South State Constituency bye-election, who also joined the APC after losing to the ruling party’s candidate in the August 21, 2025 poll.

Speaking on his decision, Isah said, “I recall the Kaura Namoda South bye-election held on August 21, 2025, where the APC candidate secured victory with a landslide margin.”

The latest defection further highlights the growing wave of PDP members switching to APC in Zamfara, as confidence in the opposition party’s leadership continues to decline.
