Serie A: AS Roma boss, Juric urges Lookman to maintain positive attitude

Atalanta manager Ivan Juric has encouraged Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman to maintain a positive mindset following his failed transfer move to Inter Milan during the summer window. The Serie A club reportedly rejected two offers from Inter, despite Lookman’s strong desire to join the Nerazzurri.

Frustrated by the situation, the 27-year-old winger submitted a transfer request and briefly went absent without leave (AWOL) before being reintegrated into the Atalanta squad. Since then, he has yet to score or assist in the ongoing Serie A season, a sign that the off-field saga might have affected his focus and form.

Speaking with Sport Mediaset, Juric expressed optimism about Lookman’s renewed spirit and urged him to remain professional and committed to the team. “I hope that he will return from international duty with the same attitude that I saw in the last two or three weeks he worked with us, where I had no complaints,” Juric said.

Juric’s comment reflects his belief that Lookman still has an important role to play for La Dea this season, especially as the team aims to secure a top-four finish in Serie A. Lookman was one of Atalanta’s standout performers last season, contributing crucial goals and assists in both domestic and European competitions.

As the season progresses, Juric hopes Lookman can put the transfer disappointment behind him and channel his energy into helping Atalanta achieve their objectives. A return to form for the Nigerian international could not only boost the team’s attack but also restore his confidence and value in the transfer market.
