Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Nigerian military leadership for their quick and decisive response to the recent terrorist attack in Borno State. The lawmaker made the commendation while speaking with journalists on Wednesday, noting that the prompt action by the armed forces helped to prevent further casualties and restore calm in the affected communities.
Ndume stated that the attack, which occurred in the Gwoza area, could have led to a greater tragedy if not for the swift deployment of troops and reinforcement from the Nigerian Army and Air Force. He applauded the courage of the soldiers who responded immediately, stressing that their professionalism and sacrifice deserve national recognition.
The senator, who has been vocal about insecurity in the North-East, said the timely coordination between security agencies showed that the federal government is serious about tackling terrorism and protecting citizens. He added that the response reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening the country’s security architecture.
Ndume also expressed sympathy for the victims of the attack and called on humanitarian agencies to provide immediate support to displaced persons. He urged residents of Borno to remain vigilant and cooperate with the military to sustain peace in the region.
He concluded by reiterating that continued investment in intelligence gathering, modern equipment, and welfare of security personnel is key to completely eradicating insurgency in the North-East.
