FG Moves To Avert Strike, Summons PENGASSAN, Dangote To Monday Truce Meeting

The Federal Government has stepped in to prevent an industrial strike that could disrupt Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) recently raised concerns over labor issues with the Dangote Refinery, threatening to down tools if their grievances were not addressed. To ease tensions, the government has summoned both parties to a peace meeting scheduled for Monday in Abuja.

According to officials, the meeting will bring Dangote Refinery representatives and PENGASSAN leadership to the same table to resolve disputes relating to welfare and working conditions. The intervention is seen as crucial, given the importance of the refinery to Nigeria’s energy security and the economy at large.

Government sources assured that efforts are being made to prevent any strike action that could disrupt fuel supply and worsen the country’s economic situation. Nigerians are watching closely, hoping that Monday’s dialogue will produce a peaceful resolution between the union and the refinery management.
