Buildings are damaged in a Southern Beirut Israeli attack.

On Tuesday evening, an Israeli airstrike hit Southern Beirut, causing significant damage to buildings in the area. The strike targeted Haret Hreik, a neighborhood known for its large Hezbollah presence. This area is also home to many of Lebanon’s Shia community and migrant populations.

According to Reuters, the airstrike aimed at a senior Hezbollah commander. While no casualties have been reported yet, the attack has caused considerable concern and disruption. Videos shared online show smoke billowing into the sky and part of a building collapsing.

Emergency services were quick to respond, rushing to the scene to manage the aftermath of the strike. Haret Hreik, often referred to as Dahiyeh, is a densely populated area, making the potential for harm and damage significant.

In related news, Gaza’s civil defense and medical officials reported finding 22 Palestinian bodies in Khan Younis city after Israeli troops withdrew from the area following a prolonged offensive. Israeli shelling was also reported in Gaza City, north of the Bureij camp, and north of Rafah, adding to the region’s ongoing tensions and violence.

The situation remains tense as both regions deal with the immediate consequences of these military actions. The international community continues to watch closely as these events unfold, hoping for a de-escalation and a return to peace.
