DR Congo accuses Rwanda of delaying peace deal implementation

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) has accused neighboring Rwanda of frustrating the implementation of a peace deal aimed at ending tensions and restoring stability in the region.

According to Congolese officials, despite several regional efforts to resolve ongoing conflicts, Rwanda has allegedly failed to show full commitment to agreed terms. They argue that delays in honoring the peace framework are undermining progress and could worsen insecurity in Eastern Congo.

The accusations come amid renewed concerns about the activities of armed groups operating near the DR Congo-Rwanda border. Analysts warn that without mutual cooperation and trust, the fragile peace process could face more setbacks, threatening regional stability and economic development.

The situation highlights the urgent need for both countries to uphold their responsibilities under regional agreements and prioritize the welfare of their people over political differences.
