A Nigerian activist, Henry Omorere, has reportedly petitioned the Attorney General of Florida over alleged property linked to the family of Nigeria’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. Omorere claimed that the matter raises serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and possible misuse of public office.

In his petition, Omorere asked the Florida authorities to investigate the ownership and financial records surrounding the said property. He argued that Nigerians have the right to know if public funds are being used to acquire assets abroad, especially at a time when the country is struggling with economic hardship.

According to Omorere, leaders in positions of power should not only serve the people but also remain open about their dealings. He stressed that public trust can only be maintained when there is fairness and accountability in governance.

The petition has stirred reactions both in Nigeria and among the diaspora community, with many urging the authorities in the United States and Nigeria to ensure a thorough probe. For now, all eyes are on the Florida Attorney General’s office to see how the case unfolds.
