I will not borrow to finance projects – Uba Sani

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has assured residents that his administration will not resort to borrowing or piling up debts to finance development projects. He emphasized that his government will focus on prudent management of resources while ensuring that abandoned projects from past administrations are completed before the end of his tenure.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a 16.5-kilometre asphalt road linking Kayarda Tasha, Kayarda Gari, Unguwan Sarki, Maskawa, and Dan Alhaji towns in Lere Local Government, Governor Sani said the project will be executed by a reputable company. He described the initiative as unprecedented in the history of Lere.

The Governor also highlighted some completed and ongoing projects in the area, including the Rewa bridge and Marjeri bridge, which have been completed, while Tudai bridge will be ready within two months. He further revealed plans to address the electricity supply challenges in towns such as Yarkasuwa, Kayarda, Ramin Kura, and Mariri.

Other speakers at the event, including the Commissioner of Environment, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, and House Majority Leader, Hon. Munira Suleiman Tanimu, commended the Governor for fulfilling campaign promises and involving indigenes of Lere in governance. Hon. Ahmed Munir, a member of the House of Representatives, praised Governor Sani’s determination, likening his resilience in politics to his early years as a top striker for the Saminaka Celtics football team.
