Nigerian defender Ola Aina has shared his excitement to return to football after going through a successful surgery on Tuesday, September 16.

The Super Eagles star picked up a hamstring injury during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against South Africa last week. Reports suggest he will be out of action until December.

Taking to social media, Aina thanked his club, teammates, and fans for standing by him during this period.

He wrote: “The surgery went really well and recovery is moving smoothly. Looking forward to WHAM. A big thank you to Nottingham Forest, my teammates, and all the fans for the love and support, it really means a lot.”

The full-back also promised to give his best in recovery so he can return quickly. “I’m working hard every day to be back on the pitch at the City Ground. Can’t wait to see you all soon,” he added.

So far this season, Aina has featured in three league games for Nottingham Forest.
