Gov. Alex Otti Offers Automatic Employment To 9 Ex-corps Members From Abia

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has offered automatic employment to nine former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members from Abia who received the NYSC Presidential Honour Awards in different states where they served.

The announcement was made on Tuesday when Governor Otti welcomed the awardees at the Government House in Umuahia. They were joined by the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Gladys Adama.

Otti Opens Job Opportunities

Governor Otti explained that his decision was not just to reward the graduates but also to inspire other young people in the state to stay focused, hardworking, and committed.

“On behalf of the state government, you are going to leave here with a token. But beyond the token, I hereby temporarily lift the embargo on employment to employ the nine of you, except if any of you is not interested,” Otti said.

He also instructed the State Head of Service to immediately issue appointment letters to the honorees, noting that their recognition had already proven their capacity and excellence.

The nine former corps members who will be employed by the Abia State Government include:

  • Abia Grace

  • Eke Miracle
  • James Chukwuebuka

Awardees Appreciate Governor Otti

Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Nwogu Chinonso from Obingwa Local Government Area, who served in Zamfara State, expressed gratitude to the governor.

He described Governor Otti as “a true leader and the Joshua of our time,” assuring that they will serve Abia State faithfully and with dedication.

Governor Otti encouraged the young graduates to continue to set good examples in their careers while assuring them that his government will always support excellence and reward hard work.
