Presidential aide Segun Dada has reacted to a recent post on X about the falling price of onions in Nigerian markets. He shared his thoughts on Monday, September 16, after the claim went viral online.
An X user had said that the price of a sack of onions has now reduced to about ₦29,000. The post gained attention because many Nigerians have been worried about the rising cost of food.
To support the claim, Dada explained that just two years ago, the same sack of onions was sold for as high as ₦180,000 to ₦200,000. He used the example to show how the current price is much lower compared to that period.
His reaction has sparked conversations about how food prices change in the country. While some Nigerians welcomed the news of lower onion prices, others pointed out that many other food items are still very expensive.
