I will be the one to bury my enemies – Veteran actor, Chiwetalu Agu, debunks de@th rumour

Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has come forward to say that reports of his death are false. He called the stories untrue and misleading.

The rumour started with a Facebook post claiming that Agu died after dealing with diabetes and having spine surgery. That post showed his pictures with the word “RIP” and caused alarm among his fans.

Agu soon answered the false claims in a video on his Instagram page. In the clip he reassured friends, family and followers that he is alive and well.

He said he was upset that people accept such stories without checking the facts, and blamed bloggers who post false news just to get attention and clicks.

Agu pointed out that the post was made for likes, views and comments. He stressed his full title and hometown, and made it clear he has no plans to die anytime soon.

He also warned those who spread harm, using a common proverb: those who dig pits for others often fall into them. He said he expects to live long and be there for his grandchildren.

He asked fans and relatives to ignore the rumours and to report the page that started the story. He ended by thanking God and saying he is very much alive by God’s grace.

This is not the first time the actor has had to deny death reports. He faced similar false claims in 2020 and warned then — as he does now — that people should not fall for unverified information.
