Businessman Isaac Fayose has said it is wrong to claim that Nigeria equally belongs to the Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba tribes. He explained that no Igbo person has been allowed to become President or Vice President since Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999.
According to Fayose, only Hausas and Yorubas have been able to occupy the country’s top political offices.
“People say Nigeria belongs to Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. But since 1999, Igbos have never been President or Vice President. They are often told to stay in their region.
Even if they talk about Biafra, it is considered wrong. How can we truly say we are united as ‘Wazobia’ if one major tribe is excluded from leadership?” he said.
Fayose also added that Peter Obi, an Igbo man who ran for President in the last election and gained strong support, was allegedly cheated out of victory.
