Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Adamawa State have arrested a man suspected of scamming nine people out of more than N9 million.
Bless Johnson, 28, faces charges of impersonation and tricking people to get money under false promises.
The state NSCDC’s Public Relations Officer, Nyako Baba, said the case was reported to the NSCDC Divisional Office in Mubi.
Baba explained that, “Based on reliable information and coordinated action, our officers arrested Johnson on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in Timbokum Village, Ganye Local Government Area.”
Investigations revealed that Johnson deceived at least nine people, taking millions of naira by falsely offering political appointments, jobs, and help with international travel.
The NSCDC PRO added that victims transferred money into the suspect’s account.
“During the investigation, Johnson returned N1,120,000 to some of the victims,” Baba noted.
The suspect reportedly carried out his fraud by collecting contacts of well-known individuals and using fake offers to lure victims.
