Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has agreed to join Turkish club Trabzonspor on a season-long loan.
The 29-year-old joined United from Inter Milan in 2023 for €51 million (£43.8m), with an extra €4 million (£3.4m) in possible add-ons. However, he has struggled in goal, making several costly mistakes.
His repeated errors led to him being dropped from manager Ruben Amorim’s plans, leaving him without any options for a permanent transfer.
A loan move is now his best chance to rebuild his career and regain confidence away from Old Trafford.
According to The Athletic, Trabzonspor will pay his full salary and may offer bonuses that could nearly double what he earned at United. The deal does not include a transfer fee or an option for Trabzonspor to sign him permanently.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have already signed a new goalkeeper, Belgian Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, for around £18 million. Lammens has signed a five-year contract and is set to take over in goal for the Red Devils.
