Comedian Ali Baba Evicted From Victoria Island Property

Veteran Nigerian comedian Ali Baba has been evicted from his Victoria Island mansion in Lagos following a court decision.

Reports from INFOLAND reveal that the comedian and his company, XQZMOI TV, were removed from the property after a writ of possession issued by the Federal High Court on August 15, 2025, was delivered to him.

Ali Baba had originally purchased the mansion in 2021 for N220 million from the federal government through the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

According to AMCON, the house was auctioned to recover debts linked to Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited. However, the court found flaws in AMCON’s claims.

On July 31, 2025, Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa dismissed AMCON’s argument, ruling that the agency did not provide enough proof of the alleged debt. He further ordered the property to be returned to its rightful owner and fined AMCON N500 million in damages.

Unfortunately, Ali Baba became entangled in the case because of the timing of his purchase.

Before the auction, the comedian was already renting the mansion from its original owner. However, despite a preservation order and an ongoing case in court, he went ahead with the purchase in 2021. This left him vulnerable when the court finally ruled in favor of the original owner.
