BBNaija star Tochi has raised concern about how the Nigerian Police are being treated today. He said the force, which was set up to uphold the law, protect people, and keep the country safe, is now often used for personal tasks.
According to him, officers are being turned into private bodyguards, asked to follow people to social events, open car doors, take photos, and act as symbols of wealth or status.
Tochi added that this kind of misuse doesn’t happen in other countries and called for it to stop in Nigeria. He urged the police to focus on their real job:
protecting citizens and maintaining law and order, rather than serving personal convenience or acting as status symbols.
