100-level Yobe varsity student d!es, 4 others injured in auto crash

A 100-level student of Yobe State University, Amina Yakubu, has sadly lost her life in a road accident, while four other people were injured.

The unfortunate crash happened when the students were on their way from Damaturu Metropolis to the university.

According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred around 5:30 pm on Saturday along Gujba Road, close to the university’s gate. It involved a tricycle, commonly called Keke NAPEP, and another vehicle.

The source added that one of the victims with injuries was a matron from the university.

On Monday, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Bukar Jamri, confirmed the sad incident. Speaking on behalf of the school, he sent his condolences to Amina’s family.

The statement described Amina as a bright young lady from Potiskum Local Government Area, Yobe State. She has since been laid to rest according to Islamic tradition.

Meanwhile, the university management assured that they are working with the right authorities to make sure that all the injured students get proper medical treatment.
